Building and growing a business is not an easy task in a highly competitive and rapidly growing area such as Pinal County. You work hard to make it a success and yet there are those who try to take advantage of the business by criminal means. It doesn’t matter whether you have a store front, building or a home-based business, criminal activity can still exact a high toll. Whether it’s passing bad checks, stealing, inflicting property damage, credit card fraud, or other nefarious means, there always seems to be someone trying to make it the “easy” way at the expense of the business. The San Tan Area Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office to meet this challenge with a Business Watch. The goal of the San Tan Business Watch is to become an “early warning system” to alert the businesses that there are certain types of crime occurring in the area. With alertness and early warning we hope much of this crime can be prevented and when it can’t- work with the Sheriff’s Office to get the criminals apprehended and see them prosecuted.

Additionally, each member of the Business Watch will be provided with a window decal to alert potential criminals that your business is being watched and you participate in this “early warning” program.

So here’s how it works:

When you become a member of the San Tan Area Chamber of Commerce (STAC) you are automatically enrolled in the program (you may opt out if you wish) and you will receive a window decal for prominent placement in a window- it’s as easy as that.

And what benefits do you receive?.......

  •    Rapid e-mail and/or telephone alerts that particular criminal activity is occurring in the area
  •     Crime proofing your business by the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office
  •     Regular crime statistics for the area so you can follow possible trends
  •     A means to alert other business watch members of potential criminal activity
  •     Community awareness and deterrent building through the media of what the Business Watch does
  •     On-going education designed to make you more knowledgeable about business crime prevention and response
  •     An extra layer of protection by letting the criminals know that the “risk” is higher than the “reward”
  •     Another step toward building a stronger and safer business environment and community
